Wasapi didn't have me jumping through hoops like this, how do I get it to work again? I have to deal with crackling, nobody's thread on the matter is helpful, increasing the buffer size makes it worse, someone recommends turning off everything that could drain your cpu, even your internet connection. I get my favorite error "There was an error opening your audio hardware, would you like to view your audio device configuration?" The input dialog comes up as Line In (Behringer etc). In reaper, the new option in 'Prefernces' in the 'Recording'/'device' tab, I go to good ol' trusty Wasapi/experimental. Here is my current problem (I've not asked for help anywhere up to this point because this is where it gets specific) So now when plugged in, in device manager the device is known as BEHRINGER USB AUDIO 2.8.40 Otherwise i would get an "Access is Denied" reasoning for the failure of the drivers to install. The fix was going to the drivers folder in system 32, unchecking the read only permission, and making myself the owner of the folder. I found after days of frustration, it was a problem with permissions. (I'm on 64bit win7)īam, couldn't finish installing drivers (0x0006 error meaning system files 'corrupted') I eventually went to the Behringer website and downloaded the new drivers for it. "There was an error opening your hardware would you like to curl into the fetal position and cry for a few moments?" Took a few days but I got it to be recognized again, but then the princess was in another castle. It's been great.Īfter the last reaper update, I found myself amped up to record vocals and ran into a barage of crap. I've been using my Behringer Xenyx 1222usb mixer for over a year using Wasapi and have had zero problems.
